I anledning Kulturnatt 2018 på Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum tilbyr vi sakesmaking med sommelier Kaori Ishii. Hver hele time, mellom klokken 19:00 - 23:00, får 10  personer mulighet til å prøve fem ulike typer sake under veiledning av Ishii. Vi anbefaler å kjøpe billett på forhånd via Hoopla (link nedenfor). Ishii vil være tilgjengelig i baren hele kvelden, så de som ikke har billett får også mulighet til å slå av en prat og få noen tips.

About Kaori Ishii

Kaori Ishii has actively organized Saké tastings in New York City where she worked for the United Nations for more than ten years before moving to Scandinavia in 2011. She is a certified Saké Educator accredited by London based Saké Sommelier Association and organized the first Certified Saké Sommelier Course (CSS) in Europe outside London. She taught CSS in Oslo and in Helsinki and has organized saké courses and tastings in Oslo, Helsinki, Copenhagen, London, Milan, Trondheim, Stavanger, Longyearbyen for restaurants (Izakaya, Alex Sushi, Fuglen, Gressholmen Kro, Omakase Oslo, To Rom og Kjøkken, Huset, Umami, Alchemist, Michelin one star restaurant Chef and Sommelier etc.) and for associations (Japan-Norway Society, the Munch Museum, Lions Club (Helsinki)), and for Fuglen, Tokyo and in Aoyama,Tokyo.

She is also a coordinator for arranging visit of Fukushima Sake Brewers Association to Scandinavian countries since 2013. She has a MBA, is certified as Saké Sommeliere (SSA, London, 2011 top of the class), Saké Educator (SSA, London), Shochu Sommeliere (SSI, Tokyo) and is a Saké Expert Assessor certified by National Research Institute of Brewing (NRIB); to date only 111 with such qualification exist in the world. She has been a judge for London Saké Challenge since 2012. She took an intensive Koji making course offered by NRIB in 2017 where she was the first one to participate from outside Japan in the course’s 111 year history.

She worked for Nøgne Ø, the first Sake brewery in Europe and the Northern most sake brewery in the world from May 2015 to promote taste sensation and joy of hand-brewed Yamahai Sake from Norway until they closed down thier sake production erlier in 2018.

She is keen to share the mystery of this magical drink with you.
