How would you describe the place you work/ your studio? Where is it located? What is the best time of the day for you to work?
I prefer not work at one same place for a long time, often it depends on the project or on the mood. Place is a media of art. For some artists, time is also a material, is it possible to choose the best time?
What inspires you in your work? What is the main motivation to create?
My motivation and inspiration consists from two components - traveling and knowledge.
What are the challenges you face in your artistic practice?
Sometimes it is incredibly difficult in the morning to convince myself that art makes sense, as well as the work I do, but by the evening, I am again dissuading myself from this.
Have you experimented with other mediums? Maybe thought about working in other fields?
In my artistic practice, I am experimenting with different materials. For example, I have used video and such a material as several tons of sugar for creating an installation in one of the projects. I am observing new fields of work, but I do not hurry to conquer these fields.
What are you reading right now? Which are some of your favourite thinkers, artists and musicians?
I am reading few books at the same time, one of the book is the ‘Grain Brain: The Surprising Truth about Wheat, Carbs, and Sugar’ by David Perlmutter. I like many different artists, writers and thinkers, but also have many more to explore, so therefore I don’t want to single out someone certain.
Besides Hannah Ryggen Triennale, what exhibitions and projects are coming up for you in 2019?
For me this is a year of researches.
