Ines Alpha // Virtual Jewellery and 3D Makeup

SOLO EXHIBITION / NORDENFJELDSKE KUNSTINDUSTRIMUSEUM, March 14 – May 3, 2020
Curator: Steffen Wesselvold Holden

Ines Alpha (b. 1985) is a 3D artist based in Paris. She started experiencing with 3D while working as an art director in advertising specialised in beauty and luxury. Her first encounters with 3D was when she started making mock-ups for HD still lives and cosmetics. This evolved into the development of AR-filters.

AR or augmented reality is a technology that combines physical reality with computer generated information. AR is an interactive experience where the perception of reality is augmented or enhanced with digital data, as in the application of filters and lenses in mobile apps like Instagram and Snapchat.

The museum shows four videos by Ines Alpha where she utilizes AR to expand our experience of the body and beauty, where the borders between two-dimensional makeup and three-dimensional objects like jewellery are erased.
